JOB PURPOSE:

To design and update the HSEQ framework, monitor its implementation dove-tailing with ISO 9001, 14001, and OHSAS 18001 standards and ensure implementation of HSEQ policies, procedures, and standards covering Plant operations, shipping and marine business.

REPORTS TO:

This position will report to Deputy Managing Director (Operations & Supply)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure that HSEQ Management System requirements are established, implemented and maintained in order to meet requirements of ISO: 9001, ISO: 14001 and OHSAS: 18001 International Standards.

• Develop and implement functional strategies, programs, training plans, HSE performance indicators SOPs and revenue and capital budgets for the HSE function, targeting zero incidents.

• Coordinate with government and non-government organizations, agencies, competitors and institutions to maintain database on HSE regulations, standards and norms.

• Institutionalize Fire Management System and ensure fire equipment and personnel remain in constant state of readiness to meet any emergencies, through audits, drills and regular training.

• Plan and conduct HSEQ walk through inspections and mock drills to test preparedness for effective management of fires, oil spills, leaks etc and continuation of refinery operations in safe mode.

• Plan and coordinate training of Company personnel on HSE and fire management to ensure they have adequate understanding, skills and knowledge.

• Provide specialist advice to ensure that the Marine and Shipping Business activities of the Company comply with internationally recognized standards.

• Represent the Company in JVs like Shell’s HSSE Forum, and other industry platforms to share best practices.
