Job Description:

Job Purpose: Managing, planning, developing and execution of the Operational Risk Management and Audit framework for the organization's Branchless Banking Unit.


Duties and Responsibilities:




  • Provide opinion on the risk profile for Digital focusing on areas of materiality




  • Must be well versed in Branchless Banking regulations and have experience in its application on product development




  • Challenging the control environment across this Business Unit and providing thought leadership to make any required improvements to ensure its effective design and operation




  • Participate in the management of Digital’s relationships with Internal/External Audit, ensuring all High Risk Audit Issues are addressed in a timely manner




  • Ensure regular "deep dive" and scenario risk reviews are undertaken within the Business Unit.




  • Significant understanding of Risk areas inherent in providing banking products and services to individuals, particularly the emerging Fraud, Legal, Information Security and Compliance risks inherent in web-based services.




  • Ability to help guide digital strategy in line with the Operation Risk Framework.




  • Experience constructively challenging the status quo, particularly from a digital innovation perspective.




Digital Specialist:




  • Building an effective relationship with the Directors of Digital to identify and challenge on key areas of risk management




  • Providing a holistic and independent opinion on the risk effectiveness within this Business Unit




  • Being a key stakeholder of the Digital leadership team, able to influence and contribute to the overall business strategy and objectives




  • Proactively identifying and influencing on the core assurance activities based on the current and future risk profile of this Business Unit




  • Challenging areas of mitigation or control weakness and influencing the priorities of the Business Unit




  • Educating this Business Unit leadership team and facilitating the identification and proactive management of their regulatory responsibilities Leadership:




  • Leading and influencing key stakeholders within Digital




  • Owning, as part of the Group Operational Risk leadership team, the overall Strategy, Operating Model, and Change agenda




  • Leading and/or sponsoring business change projects as required




  • Collaborating with stakeholders across the three Lines of Defense (e.g. Group Risk, Internal Audit) to identify, share and implement best practices across the organisation




  • Providing thought leadership within Digital to challenge, inspire and develop the overall Risk Management capability of the organization.

  • Foster a risk aware culture within the Business Unit ensuring adequate training and risk expertise is provided across their operations




Ideal candidate must have exposure to Ops Risk in the Digital Channels space
