Job Description:

Objective 1

Ensure effective management of clinical and other ailments at OTP

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Plan and organise CMAM activities (treatment of 6-23 months childern) at designated distribution sites in liaison with health facility Incharge and District Nutrition Officer.
  • Work closely with ACF and DoH s to ensure all aspects of the programme are understood and agreed and appropriate referrals take place to and from the CMAM and the programme is well integrated into the health systems.
  • Supervise the activities of the community groups (CNVs, MTMSG, PLW/Caregiver groups and TBAs)
  • Work closely with the health facility staff and LHWs to ensure all children are screened correctly at health facility/CMAM center and within targeted area, also to identity CBA in the intervention areas.
  • Ensure all criteria are respected and understood by the team and community groups, including admission, discharge and transfer to and from the CMAM.
  • Ensure comprehensive health checks and treatment according to the protocols.
  • Enusre correct clinical diagnosis at the time of assessment so that the patient receives appropriate treament in the relavant program.
  • Timely identification of complications, non responder, and referrals to the SC and strong followup uptill discharge for re-admission in OTP.
  • Review the forms completed by health facility staff and community groups to ensure completion, accuracy and coherence.
  • Ensure effective IYCF services are provided with Coordination of Health Staff as per National protocol guided in Pakistan IYCF strategy .
  • Ensure adequate availability of all medical and food supplies and ensure stock is pre-positioned as planned by discussing with logistics.
  • Ensure the MM Supplementation to children and PLW.
  • Report on progress and any problems in a timely manner to OTP Taulka Supervisor and DM/ Project Officer.
  • Ensure cases not meeting admission criteria return home as early as possible and understand why their child is not admitted
  • Through liaison with the community groups, provide effective follow up of all cases: particularly tracing of children who are absent from the programme, sick children, long stay children, children not gaining weight, and children with social problems etc.
  • Provide key health and education messages to beneficiaries based the protocol and guidelines
  • Respond to inquiries regarding the technical aspects of the program admission and discharge when ever necessary at the CMAM sites.
  • Providing health facility staffs with technical support in convening meetings and answering questions on topics relevant to the project as necessary.
  • Follow-up and ensure that the community groups interacts with the beneficiaries properly
  • If there is a problem, find out what is wrong and find a solution or else contact your immediate supervisor
  • Provide success stories / case studies in the intervention with coordination of Health Facality Incharge, Supervisor and DNO.
  • Perform any other duties requested by the immediate supervisor

Objective 2

Supervise medicines administration in OTP activities

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Follow and respect the current protocols specially drug administration i.e. for de-worming, malaria, EPI schedule and micronutrient mineral/ Vitamin A supplements, Ironic and F.A targeting children and PLW and CBA with proper documentation.
  • Add the activities linked to health and nutrition education in the protocols
  • Follow the treatment of the beneficiaries through home visits with support of community groups.
  • Participate in the follow-up of stock request and consumption.
  • Acheive ideal weight gain for enrolled patients as early as possible.
  • Ensure proper documentation and reporting of the stock distributed through CMAM activities.
  • Compile the statistical data inconjucation with NIS Officer (admission, default, cured, absent, death) and draft a report on activities with timely submission to the program.

Objective 3

Network and coordinate with the relevant sectors

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Establish good relationship with the relevant stakeholders (DOH/PPHI and community)
  • Respond and coordinate properly with Nutrition Supervisor representing ACF.
  • Establish a network with WASH implementating partner in interventation for referrals of SAM cases.
  • Establish a good understanding of the program within the community
  • Establish link and meetings with the community leaders and different group existing in the working area.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

-       This job description is not intended to be all inclusive and the employee will also perform other related tasks as required and responsible for reporting and communication of progress and achievement of the specific assigned task

-       Inform  OTP Taulka Supervisor and the DM/Project Officer of any Technical problems encountered related Stunting Program.

-       Conduct all duties in a professional manner following ACF Pakistan and MOH staff regulations and charter

-       Be flexible and adaptable with regards to the implementation of the daily work

 Note: These are project based positions and project will be implemented in coordination with the government of Sindh therefore salaries may differ from ACF actual salaries.
