Overview:

Jhpiego is an international, non-profit health organization affiliated with The Johns Hopkins University. For 40 years and in over 155 countries, Jhpiego has worked to prevent the needless deaths of women and their families. In partnership with health experts, governments and community leaders, we provide high-quality health care for the people and designs innovative, effective and low-cost health care solutions to ensure a level of care for women and their families. 

The position will assist and support the technical team in execution of service delivery interventions of IHSS/SD project at district level. He/ She will make close coordination with district government and other stakeholders to implement IHSS/SD Project activities in the selected districts of KP province.

Responsibilties:

  • At district level, develop implementation strategy and execution of integrated training and quality improvement plans at health facility level
  • At district level, develop implementation strategy and execution of  capacity development plan for community based workers 
  • Building annual training program and manage training budget at district level 
  • Handle logistics for training activities including venues and equipment and supplies.
  • Design and apply assessment tools to measure training effectiveness.
  • Facilitate learning through a variety of delivery methods including classroom instruction, virtual training, on-the-job coaching.
  • Oversee the delivery of resource material, handouts, instructional materials, aids and manuals to the training institutes 
  • Oversee the delivery of need based equipment and supplies to health facilities 
  • Assess training effectiveness to ensure incorporation of taught skills and techniques.
  • Prepare activity reports, monthly and quarterly progress reports 
  • Orient the stakeholders on project goal, objectives and targeted activities at district level.
  • Undertake training need assessment 
  • Design training material/manuals and conduct trainings in close coordination with provincial/ district Project team, government and donor.
  • Write reports according to the project and donor requirements
  • Produce success stories/case studies and share with communication Officer through concerned line Manager.
  • Maintain updated record of trainings.
  • Submit monthly, weekly and daily work plan to the concerned Line manager on regular basis

Required Qualifications:

  • MBBS preferably with MPH, social sciences or any other relevant discipline 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Have 5-7 years of experience in delivering trainings in maternal, newborn and child health, family planning. 
  • Functional grip on MS-Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Flexibility, ability to work under pressure 
  • This position requires travelling up to 60%

Jhpiego has been working in Pakistan since 1997 when it provided technical assistance under a series of maternal and reproductive health projects funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). One of the Project aims in Pakistan is to improve the quality of public and private sector health services. Healthcare providers will be trained; health facilities renovated and services will be expanded and improved. We also will improve access of women and children to health services especially the poor and those who do not or cannot go for health care, by educating communities and families and setting up better transport and communications systems. By 2017, thousands of deaths of women, newborn babies and infants will have been prevented as a result of the USAID/Pakistan MCH Program. USAID/Pakistan has, in cooperation with the USAID Office of Inspector General, established the Anti-Fraud Hotline to provide an avenue for the reporting of fraud, waste, and abuse which may be associated with USAID funded projects in Pakistan.
