Job Description: |
We are a growing bakery business passionate about crafting high-quality baked goods using traditional methods and modern business practices. As we scale operations, we are seeking a self-driven, detail-oriented Accountant who can set up and manage our entire accounting system from the ground up, blending manual bookkeeping knowledge with digital accounting tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and manage the entire accounting system from scratch, including chart of accounts, financial controls, and reporting workflows.
- Handle day-to-day bookkeeping, including entries for purchases, sales, payroll, expenses, and petty cash.
- Reconcile bank statements, supplier accounts, and POS reports.
- Track inventory costs and reconcile them with production and sales figures.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
- Ensure accurate tax filings and liaise with auditors or tax consultants when needed.
- Develop and enforce internal controls to minimize errors and prevent fraud.
- Provide financial analysis for pricing, cost control, and profitability improvement.
- Collaborate with production and operations teams to align financial records with operational realities.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the F&B or manufacturing sector.
- Proven experience in setting up accounting systems or working in a startup/early-stage business.
- Strong understanding of manual accounting processes, double-entry bookkeeping, and inventory costing.
- Proficiency in accounting software
- Intermediate to advanced Excel/Google Sheets
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with POS and inventory management systems
- Exposure to bakery, food manufacturing, or perishable goods accounting.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment with minimal supervision.
